Lawyer Onesmus Masaku died on 18th October after his hands had been slashed off by Nancy Njeri, his lover and a policewoman from Makueni county.
The advocate succumbed to the injuries at Kenyatta National Hospital where he was receiving treated, this is according to Law Society of Kenya (LSK) chairman for south eastern branch Justus Mutisya
Police Constable Nancy Njeri who is the main suspect was held at Wote Police Station to allow smooth investigations.
On October 7th, Njeri -who works at Makueni Police Station in Wote- is accused of slashing the hands of late Masaku.
Activists refuted police claims that the late was trying to rape the suspect before she defended herself.
A policed report had indicated that the lawyer had allegedly tried to rape Njeri when she slashed his hands as she was defending herself.
Before the incident, the two had been involved in a love scuffle and quarrel
