Police Claim Their Fellow Was A Member Of Al Shaabab After Kapenguria Incidend

Police have officially released the names of the police officers killed in the deadly Kapenguria police station siege.

Rogue officer kills seven police officers in Kapenguria

The siege on Thursday, July 14, left seven officers dead.

The seven officers killed included the OCS of the station, five regular police officers and a Recce squad officer.

The names of the seven police officers are:

1. CI Vitalis Ochido, OCS Kapenguria Police Station.
2. CPL Wilson Karani
3. CPL Katana Kitu
4. CPL Gideon Ochieng
5. PC Robert Kinyua
6. PC Cornelius Rono
7. Dennis Momnanyi of GSU recce COY Ruiru

The siege at the police  station started at around 5.30am.

Police confirmed the attacker was a police constable named Abdihakim Maslah.

Maslah is said to have been attempting to rescue a terror suspect held at the station.

The police constable who hailed from Garissa is said to have been radicalized by the terror group al-Shabaab.
