Royal Media Services (RMS) has announced a temporary reshuffle across its radio stations, moving several top presenters into new time slots to refresh listener experience. The move, effective Monday, February 9, will see big names like Jeff Koinange, Igunza, Tina Ogal, Mzazi Willy M Tuva, and Jeff Kuria taking on different shows. A source close to the media house said the reshuffle is intended to break monotony and give audiences a fresh, engaging radio experience across RMS stations. The changes reflect the media company’s strategy to keep content dynamic and presenters creatively challenged.
On Hot 96, Jeff Koinange and Igunza will exit the Breakfast Show and take over the Drive Show, one of the most notable changes in the lineup. They will be replaced by Nick Odhiambo and Cynthia Waithera. Meanwhile, Radio Citizen will experience significant adjustments as Tina Ogal, Abdi Munai, and Kuka Kisondio move from the Drive Show to host Jambo Kenya. The previous Jambo Kenya presenters, Vincent Ateya, Philip Murutu, and Melody Sinzore, will take over the Drive Show. These swaps aim to refresh programming and keep listeners engaged throughout the day.
Mzazi Willy M Tuva will also see a shift, joining Selly Kadot and DJ Ronnix on Waks Tikitaka, while Q-Tee, Bensu, and DJ Flash take over Mambo Mseto. The reshuffle marks a departure for Tuva, who will explore sheng, football banter, and reggae, expanding his usual style. At Mulembe FM, Breakfast Show host Omar Bakuli moves to Drive, while Pamela Kadima transitions to the morning slot. Inooro FM also sees changes with Jeff Kuria and Nyoxx moving from Breakfast to Drive alongside veteran Nderitu Waihura, who will take a break from his late-night show, now hosted by Njuguna and Karwimbo.
The reshuffle is designed to inject new energy into Kenyan radio and challenge presenters to adapt to different formats and audiences. RMS aims to offer a fresh listening experience while maintaining the stations’ popularity. By rotating talent and experimenting with show formats, the media house hopes to keep content lively, attract new listeners, and provide variety for loyal audiences.
Listeners can expect a dynamic start to February as their favourite presenters bring new energy to familiar time slots. The reshuffle underscores RMS’s commitment to innovation in Kenyan radio, creating opportunities for presenters to grow creatively while keeping audiences entertained. For RMS, the initiative is a strategic move to ensure radio content remains engaging and competitive across the market.
