The county government of Kiambu has stopped the construction of a building in Ruiru after it started developing cracks.
The engineers were sent from the county government to examine the extent of the cracks as the area remained cordoned off.
The building had been approved and deemed standard by the government before it started developing cracks, said Eunice Kamunga, a county executive.
The Co-operative bank on the ground floor of the building had warned its customers and workers to stay away from the facility.
