Two drivers escaped with injuries from the Sunday afternoon accident after trucks smashed up in collision before going up in flames in the accident that happened at Kalulu area, between Machinery town and Kambu, Kibwezi East constituency along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
“The two trucks met head-on and shortly after the accident, they burst into a huge flame. They were burnt beyond recognition”, said Kibwezi Police boss Ben Chagulo
It caused heavy traffic snarl up after traffic was diverted to old Mombasa road which is just adjacent and alternative to the main highway.
The two accident victims were rushed to Kibwezi Hospital
