Radio host Mike Mondo’s wife, Shiko Nguru, has spoken out about her experience co-parenting with her two baby daddies, highlighting the stark differences between them.
Shiko, who was previously married to ex-husband Rama Oluoch, revealed that her first baby daddy has been actively supporting his child financially and making an effort to be present. However, she claimed that Rama has not contributed financially, leaving her and her current husband, Mike Mondo, to take full responsibility for her two sons with him.
Shiko’s Journey with Co-Parenting
Shiko was once married to Rama Oluoch, a well-known content creator. The two shared a popular YouTube channel, Green Calabash, before parting ways in 2022. Following their split, they deleted their joint content, leaving fans speculating about their breakup.
During a recent discussion on her YouTube channel, Shiko opened up about the financial strain she has faced due to one of her co-parenting relationships.
“Co-parenting is a mixed bag right now. I have one co-parenting relationship where we share financial responsibility and physical custody as much as we can since he lives abroad. It is very smooth, and we are even friends. However, in the other co-parenting relationship, I am shouldering 100% of the financial responsibility and custody. I think I was spoiled by my first co-parenting experience,” Shiko said.
She admitted that she previously believed co-parenting was easy because of how her first baby daddy made things manageable. However, she later realized the difficulties of co-parenting with a partner who does not contribute financially.
“I just had never experienced the dark side of co-parenting, which can be extremely contentious, unsettling, disheartening, and financially exhausting. Everything is on us—me and my husband,” she added.
Shiko Nguru and Mike Mondo’s Marriage
In 2024, Shiko surprised many by revealing that she had privately tied the knot with Mike Mondo. She confirmed their marriage by sharing a photo of them together, captioned ‘Mrs. Mondo,’ which left netizens in awe and congratulating the couple. Mondo later shared that their first date was at the Boys II Men concert in 2023.
Shiko’s experience sheds light on the challenges of co-parenting and the importance of shared responsibility in raising children. While she appreciates the support of her first baby daddy, she hopes for a better co-parenting arrangement with her ex-husband for the sake of her children.
