Standard 8 Pupils will have a different mock exam this year preparing them to sit for the upcoming main exam KCPE after their governor, Cornell Rasanga”s portrait shall be pinned on each paper.
Close to 8,000 pupils will sit on the exams which is meant to ‘establish a mutual relationship’ with their sitting Governor.
However, Is the governor justified to have his picture on exam papers?
“The portrait is aimed at ensuring that pupils know their governor and have a close relationship with him,” county Executive in charge of education Mrs Pamela Okello, said during an event at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology grounds.
“Similar mock examination papers will be distributed in subsequent years ,we are in the process of boosting the performance of our pupils in the next national examination. It is also a campaign tactic by Governor Rasanga for the next general elections, ” explained Mrs Okello.
Governor Rasanga has spent close to 1.7 million for this ‘political project.’
