One of the top social media apps has raised social media media temperatures following an add it approved which users thought it was promoting domestic violence.

The ad read “would rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown”. The ad went ahead to illustrate where Rihanna is pictured posing with long red locks, was positioned next to the phrase “Slap Rihanna.” Chris was positioned directly under her, appearing to dance, next to the phrase “Punch Chris Brown.”

Snapchat has so far apologized.

“The ad was reviewed and approved in error as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware. We are sorry that this happened,” A Snapchat spokesperson told Sun Online.
