Police suspect that the culprits changed the car’s the registration plates number to T954 DEQ from the car’s original registration number is KCP 184R.

“This car was stolen in Kenya,we have interrogated the two suspects and their statements do not add up,” Hamisi Issah, the Kilmanjaro Police Commander said.

Kenyan police has not issued any official report concerning the case.

This is the second time a car belonging to President Uhuru’s motorcade has been stolen and found in a foreign country.

About three years ago, a BMW car with the identification umber registration KAW 479Y was found in Uganda after it had been stolen from a police officer at gunpoint.

Ugandan police used the suspect’s lover to lure him into their trap.

“Our counterparts informed us that their President’s car that was stolen at gunpoint was heading to Uganda. So we started to monitor and we recovered and have sent it back to Kenya,” Uganda’s then director of Interpol Asan Kasingye said.
