Kenyan comedian Fred Omondi says he fears for his life after he found his apartment along Thika Road burgled.
The funny man – who is a younger brother to Eric Omondi – says he returned to his house in Garden Estate on the night of Friday 9th September only to find it emptied.
He says he lost two LED television sets, furniture, a laptop, a desktop computer, a home theatre, gas cooker, a bed and a mattress all amounting to Sh900,000.
Omondi suspects one of his close friends connived with the watchman to execute the robbery.
“I believe it’s an inside job. I live in a very secure neighborhood and there is no way thieves could just walk in and take all the valuables IN THE house without help. The watchman is in for questioning,” he said.
Omondi says that there is no way the thieves could have gained access to his house without being seen by the watchman, thus feels the latter should be held liable.
He says he reported the matter at Kasarani Police Station and immediately got assistance from the officers who accompanied him to the house with arms and cameras.
When they got to the house, the police affirmed his belief that the burglary was indeed an inside job. Omondi will be staying with his brother until he gets back on his feet.
