Top 6 Varsities Kenyan Employers Prefer

Every Kenyan University is known for producing the best graduates for a certain profession and Kenyan employers have a preference of graduates from certain Universities over the other when hiring. You have also probably seen job adverts that state applicants should be from recognized institutions.

Here is a look at some of institutions that are highly recognized by Kenyan employers in different professional fields.

1. Multimedia University

It’s known to produce the best Communications graduates especially in the electronic media as it has a highly equipped practical studio. Among the courses offered include degree and diploma programs in Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Business, Media and Communications Studies.

2. Daystar University

Communication graduates from this university tend to have an added advantage over other graduates the reason many of them have secured job positions in our local media stations. It’s an arts university located in Athi River. Some Daystar alumni working in the media industry include Johnson Mwakazi, Larry Madowo, Waihiga Mwaura and Lizz Ntojira a host of others working in the media industry.

3. Kenya Utalii College

Kenya Utalii College (KUC) is Africa’s leading Hospitality and Tourism training institution which makes its graduates the most sought after employees in the hospitality industry. They offer Degree programs which include Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Arts in Travel and Tourism Management, Diploma courses such as Hotel management and travel and tourism management, their certificate courses include travel operations, tour guiding and administration, food production, front office operation and housing keeping and laundry.

4. KCA University

Kenya College of Accountancy is a recognized University started by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). The University offers certificates, diplomas and degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It produces the best accounts and finance graduates.

5. KIMS(Kenya Institute of Management)

It’s known for producing the best candidates in management courses and people who have already secured jobs have found their way back to this school for high quality management training. Among the courses offered in management includes Business Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Public Relations Management, Purchasing and Supplies Management and Project Management.

6. IHRM(Institute of Human Resource Management)

IHRM is known to produce the best Human Resource Management practitioners in Kenya. Among the courses offered include Masters of Human Resource Management, Bachelor in Human Resource Management, Higher Diploma in IHRM, Higher Diploma in Secretarial Management, Executive Certificate in Human Resource Management, Certificates and Diplomas in HRM/BM and ICDL Profile Training.
