Two persons escaped unhurt after a train rammed into their car at Mutindwa railway crossing junction.
The accident which happened on Wednesday morning on 02/05/20188 involved a commuter train which was headed to Nairobi terminus from Ruiru.
The two occupants jumped through the windows as the commuter train failed to apply breaks as it approached the junction.
Confirming the incident, Railway OCPD started that the vehicle was hit while it was stuck on the railways line.
Bystanders towed the vehicle from the train engine, later the train proceeded with the journey. The vehicle was towed to Buru Buru police station.
The vehicle is not clear whether it was stuck in a pothole or it was closed in by the occasional traffic snarl-ups experienced on the Mike Sonko Road connecting Buru Buru to Donholm via Outering Road.
This is not the first time a train engine has rammed into a vehicle.
In 2013, 11 commuters died when such an accident occured
