Gospel singer Triza Njeri faced intense attention after a beach mishap briefly exposed her shaved head, a look fans had never seen before as she usually wears a turban. The moment, captured during a livestream in Mombasa, quickly went viral and sparked teasing and speculation online.
During the livestream, a gust of wind blew off Triza’s straw hat, revealing her head before she secured it. Fans reacted with surprise, admiration, and jokes, with some encouraging her to ditch the turban altogether. The clip circulated widely, prompting Triza to address the commentary directly.
In a later livestream, Triza responded with humor and sarcasm. She explained that her head had never enjoyed sunlight, being pressed under a turban for 34 years. She added that years of covering her hair naturally affected its shape. “Even you who are telling me I look like Simple Boy, don’t you think all those years of wearing a turban would have an impact on my head?” she said, noting that the insults did not bother her.
Triza also revealed that she has not always had a shaved head. She previously had shoulder-length hair but recently tried a box haircut. She joked that she considered returning it after seeing the result, and now her hair is growing back.
Fans flooded social media with supportive comments. Sweet Gal wrote, “When a woman heals no man can bring her down.” Kajuju Mwogora said, “Finally out of some bondage and slavery shenanigans. That new look is adorable.” Others encouraged her to embrace personal choices without being affected by negativity.
The incident came after a period of drama involving Triza’s husband, Karangu Muraya, following leaked audio allegedly showing him gossiping about her. While Karangu later posted an apology online, Triza noted she never saw it as he had blocked her on Facebook.
Triza Njeri’s candid response highlights her confidence and willingness to share personal moments with fans while reclaiming her narrative amid viral attention.
