Nairobi’s self-declared Mike Mbuvi Sonko has moved to Facebook to warn his assailant to try and attack him at their own peril. This came on Thursday March 17 when he dared those who he said thought could silence him politically or in way possible. “Politics is dirty, Kuna cowards wanachoora kuuwa wengine (There are cowards who are planning to kill others),” he wrote on his wall in a Swahili slang.
“With what is going on, I will not take any chances, try it at your own risk,” he concluded with a clear cut warning.
Sonko is previously known to have been in possession of a small personalized militia seal which was disguised as Sonko Rescue team that was later termed illegal before it was banned and its facilities and equipment donated to the Nairobi County Government.
His claims have just come after his close body guard was murdered in a span of less than two weeks ago.
Constable Tsuma Bakari was shot down by four unknown assailants who later made away with his official gun, he was on his way at Kasarani, Nairobi. He was later buried at his home in Kwale County.
Sonko has been campaigning for the registration of voters in Nairobi in the beginning of this week, he has also publicly declared interest in Nairobi Governorship seat as the voters prepared for the next year’s election that will be held in August 2017.
This is not the first the controversial senator has claimed that his life was in danger.
