Nairobi county government has issued a statement that they do not expect anymore demotions this week, despite the fact that there are more than 4000 buildings to go down.
Perhaps, this would give top Kenyan media a chance to reflect on their last week reporting so as to identify where they ofcourse went wrong in last week’s demotion spree.
This would also spare Kenyans off from unverified facts channeled from these top leading houses.

It was not Nakumatt Ukay being demolished, rather Ukay Mall
So the word went far and wide that it was not Ukay Mall being demolished, but rather Nakumatt Ukay. This was a clear way media set a negative agenda on the public, using Nakumatt’s recent woes and down fall and relating it to demotion menace was all ill motive meant to sell their stories.
Nakumatt Ukay was a mere tenant at Ukay Mall. It is Ukay Mall who suffered the loss, who ignored the vacation notice and who misled their tenants. Media should however highlight the plight of Nakumatt and other tenants who were caught up in the unfortunate menace
Difference between a bulldozer and an excavator
Fact finding and fact reporting seemed an uphill task for these click of journalists. Even today’s Google could not help.
A simple search on the engine will show you clear cut difference even a small kid would not miss.
Kenyan media on several occasions referred to the green excavator as a bulldozer.
