While the nation is bracing itself for next week’s IEBC’S demos which going by the CORD’s brigade salvos are set to be done twice a week, the comrades at UON have something similar planned.
The only difference however is that theirs is set to be a nightly affair and occurring on Tuesdays and Fridays. The protests are set to force the administration into negotiations over the suspended and expelled students who demonstrated in the aftermath of the disputed SONU elections. In a statement addressed to the students the SONU Chairman said,
“No student should appear before the appeals disciplinary committee until further notice. The Vc and his belly allies can’t proceed suspending comrades whereas the aim of an appeal is to review the previous decision. We will hold demonstrations on Tuesday nights and Friday nights should the Vc refuse to dialogue.”
