1. The Maximum amount available under Uwezo framework is 500,000 Kenya Shillings
2.The money handed to a group is determined by the saving’s made by the group under the Chama – Table Banking structure
3.Vetting has been going on at the constituency.
4.Money will be disbursed according to the number of groups vetted and approved
5.There is no Interest charged on Uwezo Funds.
6.The Uwezo fund will only be disbursed through the Constituency Uwezo fund Committee. They will determine who gets the fund at the constituency level and how much each group should receive.
7.The Capacity Building will commence before you access the funds in your account. Its a 1-2 week programme that will be conducted countrywide.Thereafter, the funds will be channeled to your groups account but be mindful that the capacity building programme will run for a year as you implement your projects.
8. If you are not in a table banking group, you can still get into one, register and begin saving and in a few months you will be eligible, or join an existent group.
ELIGIBILITY
1.Youth Groups registered with the Department of Social Services, Cooperatives orthe Registrar of Societies, with members aged between 18 and 35 years.
2. Women Groups made up of women aged eighteen years and above.
3. Registered institutions that have listed youth and women groups within them.
4. Groups must be based and operational at the constituency it seeks to make an application for consideration.
5. Groups must operate a table banking structure or any other group fund structure where members make monthly contributions according to the groups’ internal guidelines (evidence of monthly contributions shall be a requirement).
6. Groups must hold a bank account in the name of the group.
The Uwezo fund Committee constitutes of :
1. A Sub county Commissioner or his representatives
2. The Sub county development officer or his Representatives
3. The sub county accountant responsible for national government operations within that constituency
4. The sub county representatives for the national government ministry responsible for youth and women affairs, who shall be an ex officio member and the secretary to the committee;
5. A representative from each ward in the constituency nominated by the constituency member of parliament
6. Two representatives from the constituency b, one of whom shall be a male youth, nominated by the county women representatives ; and
7. One person with disability per constituency who shall be appointed by the county women representatives.
