Within the annual meeting for the presentation of the main novelties within the technology in Las Vegas, CES (Consumer Electronics Show), there is always a pique: who can make the USB with greater capacity ever built in a space as small as possible.
In the 2017 edition, it was the company Kingston that presented two models of 1TB and 2TB in a minimum space thanks to its DataTraveler Ultimate GT.
But now it seems that someone wants to do the competition, and we’ve known thanks to The Verge.
Sandisk has submitted 1TB that, is smaller than Kingston, becoming the first with this capacity and size worldwide. In addition, it is not USB either, but it is type C, that is, in addition to being able to connect to a computer, you can also do it to other mobile devices, such as a mobile or a tablet.
At the moment, it is only a prototype, without a specific price or an exit date, but the idea is to develop it as soon as possible to be a competitor against other companies that are thinking of taking something similar to the market.
Currently, for example, the company has hard drives of 1 TB but with measures of 10 x 8.2 x 1.3 cm, and the price can reach Ksh.30,000 , so we cannot imagine how much could it get to cost this prototype. We’ll be alert.
