Teacher Peter Mokaya Tabichi who recently won this year’s Global Teacher Prize was hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta at his Nairobi’s State House building.
President Uhuru termed teacher Tabichi’s heroism as a source of courage and inspiration to many in the country.
“You have brought honour and pride to the people of Kenya and your win will raise the profile of the teaching profession,” said the President.
President Uhuru also promised to donate Ksh. 20 million to teacher Tabichi who received his 2019 Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize on Sunday in Dubai,
Mr. Tabichi teaches mathematics and physics teacher at Keriko Mixed Day Secondary School in Pwani village, Nakuru County.
At the deluxe event, he was awarded with cash prize equivalent to Ksh. 100 million
