Nigeria’s afro-pop singer Yemi Alade and Kenya’s Sauti Sol have finally released their long awaited video for the song ‘Africa’.
The video that was shot in Kenya, Nigeria, the UK and the USA celebrates the incomparable beauty and richness of Africa. A lovely reminder of our beautiful motherland. Surely, ‘Nowhere be like Africa.”
Yemi Alade even throws in some Swahili lines like ‘Karibu Kiti’, ‘utapewa nini’, a trend that has featured in her recent songs more recently her thanksgiving song, ‘Na Gode’. Our boys on the other hand are serving nothing but fierceness and in all-white outfits, they are stunning.
Yemi’s move to patronize Africa in new hit follows after Sauti Sol completed their world tour of an album dubbed Live and Die in Afrika.
The lyrics in the album’s main song matching those in Yemi’s latest that there is nowhere better than Africa.
The video has however been criticized for lacking the usual Yemi dance moves with some fans saying that it should have incorporated well-choreographed African dance moves.
