Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko recently handed financially struggling Dennis Oliech a lifeline when he appointed him to be among the committee members of Sports in Nairobi.
Oliech and his mate Musa Otieno would be among other 10 members who will be tasked with developing skills and nurturing sports in the county.

- He was born as Dennis Oguta Oliech on 2nd of February in 1985 , he is aged 33 years old.
- The former Harambee Stars striker was born in Mathare, Nairobi County. He stands 1.81m tall.
- Between 2001-2003, he played for Mathare United in KPL league.
- Internationally he has played for Al-Arabi with 12 goals, Nantes with 32 goals, Auxerre (25 goals), Ajaccio with 8 goals and Dubai CSC with 4 goals
- He scored 34 goals in 72 appearances when playing for Harambee stars between 2002 and 2016
- With 34 goals, he is Kenya’s all-time scorer, a record he set before hanging boots in 2016
