Divock Origi is a Belgian professional footballer whose roots are traced from Kenya.
He currently plays for Liverpool and Belgium national team.
His father Mike Okoth was Harambee Stars player and an international player for both Racing Genk and KV Ostende in Belgium.

10. He comes from a family of players. His father Mike Okoth Origi played for KV Ostende, Racing Genk both from Belgium and also the Kenya national team. His uncle Austen Oduor played for Gor Mahia, his other uncles Gerald and Anthony both played for Tusker FC. His cousin Anorld Origi is a renowned former Kenyan Harambee Stars goalkeeper, he currently plays for
Lillestrom in Norway.
9. He is the first youngest goal scorer in Belgium world cup history, and the first player of the Kenyan origin to score in a world cup. At 19, he scored against Russia in 2014 Brazil world cup. His lone goal enabled Belgium advance from group stages.
8. He turned down a chance to join Manchester United academy at the age of 15. He wanted to be a product of Lille and not for Manchester United. He was inspired by the products of Lille such as Eden Hazard, Gervinho and Joe Cole.
7. He signed a five year contract with Liverpool in 2014. Liverpool then immediately loaned him back to Lille for 2014/2015 season. He officially joined Liverpool in 2015/2016 season.
6. Origi scored his first goal for Liverpool against Thai All-Stars. This was during their pre-session tour of Thailand in 2015.
5. He was passionately kissed by a fan on valentines day when he scored against Aston Villa. After scoring against the villans on 14th February 2016, Origi went to celebrate with jubilant fans and surprisingly received a valentine kiss from one of the fans.
4. He started representing Belgium in 2010 in the under 15 national team. He grew annually to the subsequent age bracket of the national team until 2014, when he joined the senior national team at 19.
3. Baby dolphin born on 22nd June 2014, when Divock scored alone goal against Russia was named after him. Dolphin Origi calf was born at Boudewijn Sea Park in Bruges Belgium. Unfortunately, Origi the dolphin later died in July 2014
2. In 2014, then Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche attempted in vein to persuade Divock to play for Harambee Stars, an issue Origi claims was difficult. He argues that logically as a born Belgian he would play for his country of birth rather than his father’s county. He wishes to give back to the country that has invested in him.
