In Kenya, there only two types of school, public and private schools. Both run by government and private entities respectively, however there is another type of unsung schools.
These are a type of schools where the rich and Kenya’s top creme take their kids in search of education, often denoted as international schools.
Here, the least a parent can pay is from 0.5 million to 5 millions per year. Here you will find kids from Mudavadi , Uhuru, Raila, Kalonzo, Chris Kirubi, Sonko etc families
However very few celebs can match up for the game, those who have dared are just so few, like the ones listed below.
1.Bahati: 0.5 Million per year for daughter Mueni
Mueni Bahati is now a grown up kid and she is too old to stay home with he little Heaven Bahati.
As a result, Baby Mama Yvette Obura and Bahati will be taking Mueni for the first time to school in 2019 at Potterhouse School located in Nairobi based in posh estate, Runda.
A spot check at their school fees, reveals a skyrocket bills that will empty Bahati’s pockets by a half a million on a yearly basis.

2.Akothee pays close to 10 Million per year for her kids
Even though she is known to be braggadocious, she has a point
In one of her posts, she revealed that she pays close to 10 million per year for her 5 kids.
Her eldest daughter Celly Rue is studying at Strathmore where yearly school fees is pocket friendly to the richest in the country.
3.Terryanne Chebet’s Daughter Imani- 17 Million pa
The daughter to former Citizen TV business anchor Imani goes to Pembroke House School which offers the British National Curriculum.
Located just outside luxury area Gilgil, Pembroke’s term fees includes Kshs 595,000 per term which is more than 17 million shillings per year , for years 3-8 and Kshs 72,000 per term for Nursery school.
4.Alvin Kabogo- 1.8M
At the University of Brighton where he graduated from, students pay from £12,660 -£13,920(1.7 Million Ksh-1.85 Million Kshs) per year with first time international student paying a tuition fee deposit of £2,500 (About 332,000 Kshs).
He later went for more knowledge, taking MSc in Marketing strategy and innovation at University of Westminster.
In Kenya where he studied his O level education, he went to a high class school, Greensteds International School Kenya whose school fees ranges from 355,000- 668,000 Kshs for years 12-13 to 105,000- 318,000 for year 1-2. (The difference in school fees for the years is due to the fact that boarders pay more).
Alvin also went to another tycoon kids school ,Brookhouse School.
5.Lupita Nyongó – 1.8 Million
Hollywood Star and Governor Anyang Nyongó for Kisumu county, Lupita also studied in top rich school where the governor paid millions.
She started at Rusinga International School for her early years before joining St. Mary’s School in Nairobi for her International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
Then she went to Hampshire College for her bachelor’s degree in film and theater studies before joining Ivy League schools, another prestigious school.
Lupita concluded her education at the Yale School of Drama where she pursued a master’s degree in acting.
In those schools, the school fees range from Ksh.700K to 1.9 Million
6. Mukhisa Kituyi’s daughter Laila – 3 Million
Laila is studying Masters of medicine, health, and public policy in King’s College London.
Apart from the London based college, she also went to
University of Sussex for Psychology and also studied at the International School of Kenya (ISK).
The school fees at International School of Kenya (ISK) is between 1.6 Million and 3 million per year
7.Muhoho Kenyatta- President Uhuru’s son- 1.4 Million
He went to Peponi School, a facility that charges around 1.4 million per year.
The school features amenities like Water Polo, Gym and Aerobics
8.Ian Waiguru- Ksh.900K
Ian studied at Brookhouse School in Kenya for his high school education before joining The University of Salford, Manchester in England
During the NYS 1 scandal, he was seen driving a brand new Aston Martin car. During then his mother Anne Waiguru was the Minister of Devolution
9.Julie Gichuru Kids- 2.1 Million
Her kids go to Brookhouse School located along Langáta Road in Nairobi.
Brookhouse School fees as we all know is pretty steep with the school fees ranging from 490,000-875,000 for years 2-5, with 6-8 paying 535,000 for day scholars and 920,000 Kshs for boarders.
10.Erica Gachoka , daughter to Ciru Muiruri – 1.5 Million
She studies at St Andrew’s Turi in the suburb located between Molo and Nakuru
The school Fees at St Andrews ranges from Ksh 304,0007 -730,000 fees per term depending on your year of study and whether you are a day scholar or boarders
