Marriage will always come after dating, despite the the two words being closely related and tied together, they actually mean a two world apart and could even mean different stages of a key life milestone.

Here are facts you need to know about dating and marriage

1. Just because you two are married doesn’t mean you stop dating each other

2. Dating simply means scheduling a specific time to spend together as a couple

3. Your love before marriage was sweet because you two made time to date, your love in marriage will also be sweet when you two make time to date

4. Going out on dates doesn’t have to be expensive, it can even be free, even if just taking a walk

5. Dates don’t have be done outside. You can schedule a time to be at home together, take the kids out to play or to your parents, put the phones away and have a meal as a couple, a candle light dinner or cuddle and watch a movie or play a couple’s game

6. There are more fun things to do as a couple than just having sex. Be creative

7. The more you date as a married couple, the more you discover new things about each other, the more you build emotional intimacy, the closer you become

8. Sometimes a date can be a long planned holiday as you travel as a couple. You can plan months in advance and save up

9. Yes you love your children but sometimes leave the children behind and have quality time just you two. Some conversations, playfulness and memories will not occur if the children are always tagging along

10. As a married couple, it is not always the responsibility of the husband to plan for dates, as a wife, you can do it too

11. The more you spend time on dates outside in public, the more proud you will be of your union and the more secure you will make each other

12. Don’t take other people out on dates to restaurants, hotels, trips, for lunch and dinner; yet you don’t do that for your spouse. Your spouse deserves the special things

13. As you go out on dates, take photos and videos to remember those moments. Those are what you will be looking at and smiling when you two are old and gray
