Minor or small accidents happen especially in squeezed up parking bays such as shopping malls or near big town centres.

When you are in a rush, it is very easy to brush someone’s car, this might be a small mistake but what you do afterwards will determine its impact and your honesty.

Trying to run away will turn out to be a criminal offense, or even trying to rub it off.

Here is what you should when you find yourself in such a situation

  1. Take nice photos of the vehicles involved in the small accident
  2. If you do not have a camera or a smartphone, ask for help from witnesses and even possible they could help in taking photos
  3. Look for CCTV in the area, it will help to provide visual evidence for insurance firms
  4. Always take note of the make, model, colour and registration plate of the damaged car in addition to pictures
  5. Leave behind your details (your full name, address and best contact phone numbers) for the damaged car owner to contact you.
  6. Write down how the accident happened- I was reversing in a small parking way before it hit the rear car
  7. Also write down the time and date when the accident happened
  8. Do not forget to write an apology for the owner
  9. Give out your insurance company and your policy number
  10. Place the note on the vehicle or leave it with security guards
