Were it not for the sake of the white man, Kenyans and entire Africa would not have appreciated the value of Lupita Nyong’o ’s beautiful nature. I would sit somewhere and imagine that only her parents and siblings thought she was more beautiful than anyone else than someone would have thought.

  1. The 33 year old was born on March 1st in 1983 in Mexico City, Mexico
  2. She holds two citizenships, a Kenyan and Mexican citizenship
  3. She studied at Hampshire College Yale School of Drama
  4. She is an actress, filmmaker and director, model and music and video director
  5. Her debut was in a small film East River-2008 before being famous from Shuga in 2009 and In My Genes
  6. She is the first Kenyan and first Mexican to win an Academy Award after winning Academy Award for the best supporting actress.
  7. Her most successful moment came out in 2013 when she starred in 12 Years As A Slave
  8. She is the second in six born to Dorothy and Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o who is the former minister of health in Kenya and the current Senator of Kisumu County
  9. At the time of her birth in 1983, her father was working at El Colegio De Mexico for three years
  10. Her parents moved back to Kenya when she was barely one year old because the father was appointed a professor at the University of Nairobi. Lupita was then sent back to Mexico when she was 16 years old
  11. She acted in small drama plays such as Oliver Twist while she was studying at Rusinga International School in Kenya before joining St. Mary’s School in Nairobi
  12. Lupita who resides in Brooklyn is fluent in Swahili, Luo, English and Spanish languages
  13. In 2015 she returned back home in Kenya to advocate for Wildlife species such as the endangered Elephants
  14. Lupita was made on the cover of Vogue making her the ninth African and second African woman to appear on the cover of that magazine
  15. New York one time celebrated a day named Lupita Nyong’o Day to honour her works
