Several investigations show that colors can affect our mood and the way people relate to us. Get to know a color guide that you should, or not use, when you go to work:

The best colors to use in the office:

  1. Green
This color denotes freshness, security and harmony. It is also associated with money and with the green of the lighthouse. This color does not harm or tire the eyes, representing a good choice for those who sit in front of a computer for an entire day.
  2. Blue
It is the color of wisdom and truth. It is also soothing and linked to the intellectual, as well as being the most stable color, being a great alternative for stressful and crisis days.
  3. Brown
Brown is a stable color and is also seen as masculine. If you are a woman and you are in a predominantly masculine place, wearing a chocolate brown suit can give you credibility.
  4. Black
This powerful color can convey mystery and seriousness. It is also considered elegant and “slim down”. If you want to be treated with respect, the combination of black with blue or green is ideal.

The worst colors to use in the office:

  1. Yellow
It is the happiest color of all and usually encourages joy. However, it is considered unstable. Therefore, it can over-energize the environment and make those using it appear weaker.
  2. Gray
Gray implies passivity and lack of energy. If you like to use gray, it is good to use it with a brighter color, like blue, to neutralize its negative effect.
  3. Network
It is the color of aggression and passion – great for a first date, but not as good as that for the work environment. Red can be seen as hostile in the office, so think twice before using it.

Colors to use sparingly or as a detail:

  1. Orange
It is a color of encouragement and enthusiasm. It is not as aggressive as red, but it draws attention. Use orange sparingly.
  1. Roxo
Roxo resembles royalty and luxury. It is also the color of magic. However, as it is difficult to find anything of this color in nature, it is seen as an artificial color. A scarf, scarf, tie or bag are great accessories in purple.
  2. White
This color is associated with cleanliness and perfection. It is always a good choice for a shirt or scarf, but it denotes shyness and sterility – characteristics inappropriate for relationships in the workplace.
