Did you know that there are jobs that trigger cancer? This neoplasm, which is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and the third in Kenya.

Cancer is generated by the interaction of genetic and external factors (physical, chemical and biological).

Therefore, the World Health Organization (WHO) ensures that at least 30% of cancer cases could be prevented from controlling the so-called carcinogens, which are found in the general or working environment.

1.Construction and fishermen:

Direct exposure to the sun’s rays favors the development of skin cancer, according to the American Cancer Association

2.Manufacture of furniture and cabinets or cast iron;

Direct contact with materials such as arsenic, asbestos, nickel compounds can cause lung cancer, notes the Encyclopaedia of Health and Safety at Work.

3.Workers in automobile factories.

People who work with the agent called asbestos are likely to develop lung cancer, pleural mesothelioma and peritoneal cancer.

4.Beware of the pavement!

Because there are a lot of risks for developing cancer, one study that tar is used in asphalt pavement contain carcinogens.

In the study, published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, it is detailed that people who have in contact with the material have a higher risk of developing cancer from exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).

This material can affect when it becomes dust, inhale it at the moment it is applied or when drinking it.
