What takes away your desire to work? Job demotivation is a very common evil today. It can affect you or – if you have a business – your collaborators. Check out these tips to get over it.
The first key point is that the objectives of each job are well defined, as well as the objectives of the entire team. Poorly planned objectives are not achievable and lead to fear, to feel that the position is in danger.
The second point is the environment . Experts recommend that a meeting be held in which the environment is valued from 1 to 10 and solutions are proposed. Using numbers allows “to detect the environment without blaming anyone, and by asking how it can be improved, it is achieved that attendees look ahead and take responsibility for the situation and the results.”
A third point is the need for emotional rewards at work. Employers must value the work of their employees. They make efforts to fulfill the tasks, it is not the automatic accomplishment of the work in exchange for the salary. On the part of the collaborators, it is important to think that independent of the recognition of others, there is the personal satisfaction of doing the work in the best way and achieving results.
If you have:
A conflictive or distant relationship with your boss.
Ask him what he thinks of you and what you could do to improve the relationship. Don’t assume anything.
Concern about the situation of the company.
Find out how you can support the company if it is in difficult times. If things don’t improve, look for other job options instead of creating a bad environment.
Monotonous and boring tasks.
Look for responsibilities beyond your work area. This way you will get more experience and you will be more valued by the company.
You work in something that does not correspond to your vocation.
Although salary and stability are important, take your first steps in something of personal interest , even if it is as a volunteer or with few clients. It is the way to start.
You are not progressing in the company as you should.
Answer these questions to yourself : Are your goals clearly defined? Do the others know them? Do you have an action plan? Can you do more things?
