Beloved Mombasa-based celebrity barber Sam, popularly known on social media as @kitikisam, is currently bedridden and battling a serious illness. The news of his deteriorating health has sparked an emotional wave of support from fans and prominent Kenyan celebrities.

Sam, widely recognised for his talent and friendly personality, built a loyal following while working at Mintos Salon and Spa in Mombasa. His client list includes numerous local stars, and his dedication to the craft earned him the admiration of many. In a heartfelt statement on social media, Mintos Salon and Spa confirmed Sam’s condition and announced that he had taken time off to focus on recovery. The team expressed their unwavering support, saying Sam’s place at the barbershop is secure and waiting for his return. They emphasised that his health must come first.

Kenyan celebrities quickly stepped in to offer their support. Singer Masauti and filmmaker Abel Mutua were among the first to publicly send prayers and well-wishes to the ailing barber. Fans have also taken to social media to share personal experiences and encouragement, with many recalling his kindness, professionalism, and the warmth he brought to every appointment.

One touching message from a client recalled a February visit, describing Sam as not only a skilled barber but a great conversationalist who shared valuable fitness tips. As messages of love and support continue to pour in, the Mintos team urged the public to help however they can. They appealed for prayers and financial contributions to assist with Sam’s medical expenses, sharing his M-Pesa number: +254 724 590 868.

A recent image of Sam in a hospital bed accompanied the statement, showing a man clearly worn by illness but still carrying hope in his eyes. Fans flooded the comments section with heartfelt messages, wishing him strength and healing. His story has brought attention to the vital role barbers play in their communities—not just as service providers, but as trusted, cherished figures who often become part of their clients’ lives.

Support for Sam continues to grow, with many expressing optimism that he will return to his craft stronger than ever. His journey has touched hearts across the country, reminding Kenyans of the power of unity and compassion during difficult times.
