The revelations that the departed Gor Mahia head coach lead a dog’s-life while working for the reigning KPL Champions is disturbing.
The English coach, is believed to have tendered in his resignation owing to the tough menace.
We have learned that Kerr lead the following very tough life while coaching at Gor.
Delayed salaries
His salaries were severely delayed and if he was paid the bosses did so in arrears which span through the months leaving the coach at the mercies of his own pocked and little savings
Rent arrears, Water and Electricity disconnections
At one point, water and electricity amenities were cut off after payment was delayed at his Kileleshwa apartment in Nairobi
Taking shower from swimming pool
With no water in the shower and neither electricity for hot shower, the Briton improvised taking shower by doing it from the swimming pool.
“Kerr is the only coach who could have persevered at Gor Mahia, imagine a coach staying in a house without electricity and water and having to shower in a swimming pool because of rent arrears,” the club’s organizing secretary Judith Nyangi, said when word came out that the coach had resigned.
No proper meal
The coach always opted to take cheaper meals from locals joints such as near Yaya centre in Kilimani because of shallow pockets which had been hugely affected by Gor bosses who could not pay on time
Walking to work on 12KM stretch
For the last three months before his resignation, he spent it working time walking to work on a 12KM distance.
Reason- his car broke down and it was taking Gor Mahia management too long to fix it.
