USA President Donald Trump’s image is one of the top ranked results on Google Search engine when one types the word ‘Idiot’ on the search command.
This result has puzzled the world due to the fact that Donald Trump has been tainted as one of the worst Presidents America has ever had in both modern and ancient USA.
We look at some of the reasons why his image comes up on top of the searches when one keys in the strange word associated with the President.
- Green Day, American musician sang ‘American Idiot’ 14 years ago. When you simply type the word ‘Idiot’, Google algorithm associates Trump with America than any other key word, the algorithm would rather focus on Trump and ignore the song’s name and link it to idiot because Trump has been the most used word on internet alongside America or USA.
- Secondly, the word Trump and Idiot has been widely used on internet majorly with political activists on social media and other blogging platforms, not to mention online news portals. With this Google Algorithm is tricked to associate the word Trump and ‘Idiot’, making the two rank top of the chart. The word Trump and Idiot have also been widely used as headlines or tittles
- There could also be malicious websites, majorly owned by Trump protesters who would key in two words, Trump and Idiot so as to heavily link the two words that would give back results would be rather irrelevant to search topic. Thus creating the link between Trump and Idiot
- Another scenario, would be some hackers sitting from unknown point on the website, who would design an algorithm that would interfere with the servers of Google search engine, so as the ‘Idiot’ search would redirect users to Trump’s images and ranked top on the search.
- Sponsored adverts containing key words of Trump and Idiot with his images would also give one such a result. This was very evident during Kenya’s 2017 election where NASA leader online campaign brigade claimed a Google sponsored ad was returning Images of Raila in bad results. If one searched Raila Odinga then, results such as corruption, 2007 PEV, chaos would be ranked top.
About five years ago, Google was forced to pull down a bizarre result which was seen as promoting racism on the black race.
Other funny searches on Google are ; ‘Find Chuck Norris’, which will, in turn, give “Google won’t search for Chuck Norris because it knows you don’t find Chuck Norris, he finds you.”
