Contrary to what many people think, it is in college that we should start to develop our networking network.

This is the right time to meet people, exchange information and make contacts.

The sooner you think about the importance of investing in this practice, the bigger your network of relationships will be and, consequently, the more professional opportunities that may arise for your professional life.

Take advantage of the opportunities that the college offers you, and follow our advice to increase your networking

1 – Be active on campus

If you want to grow your network, you need to be an active student at college. Participate in student movements and get involved with students from other courses. In other words, be active in the organizations available at your college, and seek to exercise leadership positions in these groups.

2 – Establish connections outside the campus

Another important part of the relationship network is meeting people from different areas, so don’t be afraid to make connections with students from other institutions. Joining a professional network outside your college is one of the best ways to meet influential people and also to be known.

3 – Learn to enter the job market

If you want to be present in the job market, you need to be an attractive professional. The best way to “sell” yourself to the job market is knowing what your qualities are, and above all how you can use them. Confidence in your strengths is the key to successfully entering the job market.

4 – Search for mentors

When creating a network of relationships, the big goal is to be able to find people you can consider mentors. Usually, they are people already known in the job market and will be responsible for your professional guidance and growth of your networking.

5 – Create a LinkedIn profile

Don’t wait until college is over to start thinking about professional relationships. Create your LinkedIn profile in the first year of college. Build your connections over the years, and harness the power of the professional network during your training.
