On Monday night of 4th March 2019, death plucked a young Kenyan, Emmanuel Otieno aka Jadudi through life sucking cancer.

The cancer warrior died at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu

“We regret to inform you that Jadudi, a.k.a. Emmanuel Otieno, succumbed to brain cancer at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisumu on the night of March 4, 2019,” Africa Cancer Foundation said.

“He was a real Shujaa! May God rest his soul in eternal peace and comfort his family. ACF mourns Jadudi,” it added.

Few years ago, he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor

  1. Few months after he was taken through a surgery to remove a brain tumor, he was diagnosed with another brain tumor
  2. He came into light in 2015, after his story was highlighted by Jackson Biko. Since then he had gone through seven surgeries.
  3. In two days, Kenyans managed to fund raise more than sh. 6.4 million to help him go through the painful ordeal of surgeries.
  4. The funds would later turn controversial after it was claimed that his medical bills were actually covered by National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF)
  5. The cancer interrupted him at the age of 22 years, while he was studying political science and sociology at University of Nairobi back in 2015
  6. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor known as Grande III Ependymoma on the left paretial’
