We all know that friend on social media who posts selfies almost every single day giving a blow by blow account of their day; In class, #GetThatDistinction, #hustleMode, #VacayTings, #SleepAllDay… ad neuseum.
To mask the obvious narcissism, the new trend is to post a selfie with a motivation quote or a bible verse. Some post photos of what they own, who they are married to or their kids just to get those more-often-than-not fake comments and then keep refreshing for a new dose of self-esteem. Others will hide it by including other people in the picture but the objective remains the same; to get social affirmation via likes and comments.
