South African Paralympian champion Oscar Pistorius removed his prosthetic limbs and walked on his stumps around the courtroom at his sentencing hearing today.

His defence lawyer wanted to show how vulnerable he was when he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through a door at his home in 2013.

The court granted permission for the crime scene photos of Reeva to be made public. Oscar says he mistook Ms Steenkamp for an intruder.

Pistorius will be sentenced on 6 July. The double amputee faces a jail term of 15 years but it may be reduced due to time already spent in prison and mitigating factors.
