If adequate measures are not taken, taking a taxi can be a direct trip to an assault or physical and emotional aggression, to avoid it we provide you with eight tips that will help you prevent any eventuality in a taxi:

Safe taxis.

The ideal is to order taxis on site. If you are going to travel to a big city, look for taxi phones before arriving, and if you cannot find, at least at first, take the ones from the airport or truck station, even if they are more expensive.

Ask the taxi driver for site phones or radio taxis and use them whenever you can.

Talk to the taxi driver.

Many studies have shown that taxi drivers who often make conversation with their clients are less likely to get involved in criminal situations. Ask him about the weather, the traffic, a cue recommendation, anything that gives them conversation.

Watch what they talk about.

Now, it is one thing to talk and another is to tell him about your whole life, tell him what hotel you stay in or that you live alone and spend outside your house all day.

Be careful with the information you share, not only with the taxi driver but with any stranger. Keep the conversation on non-personal topics and if you ask a question you can always have fun inventing a personality.

Ask before going up.

Before taking any taxi, ask for the rate or if it is charged with a meter. And make sure you have cash to pay, it is not recommended that the taxi driver take them to an ATM to withdraw money.

Have the address close at hand.

Now Google Maps makes our lives much easier, because even if we don’t know how to get to a place, the map will always give us options. If you don’t know the route, check the map directions and compare it with the taxi driver’s suggestion.

Look at the plates and / or card.

Depending on the city in which the taxi drivers are, they are identified differently, but they all have an identification number and the license plate number must be visible.

Write it down in a text message and if necessary send it to any friend. It is not about alarming anyone, but if something makes them feel insecure, it is better an extra call to ensure that they do not see them again.

Trust your instincts.

Never underestimate your sixth sense. If something makes you feel insecure or nervous, get off. Don’t be afraid to finish your tour sooner, you can always use a pretext like: “What do you think? I need to buy something on this corner. “

Always put the insurance.

Immediately after you get on make sure both rear doors are locked, avoid external aggression in this way. And if you feel that the aggression may come from within, get off immediately!
