Hillary Muriungi Kaume who topped Meru county in 2018 is dead after succumbing to a brain tumor
Kaume emerged the best candidate in the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) after scoring 442 marks.
The bubbly boy was admitted at Alliance Boys, from Fred’s Academy in Meru
He died in 1st of May at Nairobi Hospital, according to family spokesperson Elias Mutuma
Kauma was diagnised with a brain tumor after he joined high school.
He was taken through surgery and radiation treatment at Nairobi Hospital to remove the tumor.
As a result of missing better part of his classes in 2019, he was set to resume school in 2019, but an MRI scan showed another growth in his head.
Doctors recommended him to seek abroad treatments in India, but due to global lock-down the boy could not travel.
