The Chinese company Geely took advantage of the outbreak of coronavirus that is spreading around the world and designed a car supposedly capable of protecting its passengers from the disease.
The Geely Icon is a compact SUV with an intelligent air purification system, capable of filtering at least 95% of particles of 0.3 microns or larger and eliminating bacteria and viruses, Sputnik reported on its website.
The highly efficient air purification system works with air conditioning to isolate and eliminate harmful elements, “the Asian company said in an official statement.
Just hours after the launch of the advanced vehicle, which was broadcast live, the Chinese company received more than 30,000 orders.
The car was designed by five Geely design studios located in Barcelona, California and Shanghai.
The unusual vehicle also has 12 ultrasonic radars and 5 high-definition cameras, in addition to cruise control and emergency braking systems and recognition of passers-by, among other smart tools. Likewise, it only consumes 5.7 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers and is capable of reaching a speed of 100 km / h in just 7.9 seconds.
Tesla’s electric car, Elon Musk’s company, is equipped with its own HEPA filter, which removes 99.97% of harmful agents, in addition to an air filtration system dubbed the Bioweapon Defense Mode (defense against biochemical weapons, in English).
