The HR Intern will report to the People Assistant – HR and Admin and will work alongside other members of the People Division. The HR Intern will support Busara’s operations by supporting the provision of efficient and effective HR services. This internship will be for 3 months.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance of HR records (both electronic and otherwise)
- Support the registration of new employees with the relevant statutory bodies in Nigeria.
- Provide support in office administration of the Lagos Office, as well as the implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support the on-boarding/orientation process of new employees
- Prepare, and keep track of field officer contracts.
- Support the coordination and delivery of employee wellness events and initiatives.
- Assisting with the development, communication, and on-going maintenance of employee policies.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping people-related information confidential.
- Work with the rest of the People Operations members to coordinate wellness events and initiatives.
- General support of other people team initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration or a relevant field- must have graduated within the last 1 year.
- Good interpersonal and people management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software and g-suite applications.
- Basic knowledge of Nigerian Employment Law.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Possession of an NYSC discharge certificate is preferred
- 3 -6 months internship experience in the same field is preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and listening skills, including highly effective multitasking skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize workload.
This internship is open to applicants who have a pre-existing legal right to work in Nigeria.
