Car dealer and social media influencer Khalif Kairo, whose real name is Joseph Kairo Wambui, has addressed recent claims of his arrest, which surfaced on December 3, following accusations of being involved in a luxury car deal scam. According to reports, Kairo was detained by police at the Kasarani Police Station after allegedly defrauding a client of KSh 26 million. It was claimed that Kairo took the money from the client for a luxury car deal but failed to deliver the vehicles or offer a refund.

In response to the arrest rumors, Kairo reassured his followers through a post on X (formerly Twitter). While he did not directly confirm the details of the arrest, Kairo emphasized that challenges are a normal part of business, especially for entrepreneurs who are experiencing growth. He shared a message of resilience: “Hizi challenges mnaona nikipitia are very normal in business especially when a company is growing. Every big entrepreneur at one point must face litigation or money problems especially when God is taking you to higher levels. To the ones reaching out, I am 100% okay and I will overcome. Imara kama simba, kama chuma cha reli ama mfupa wa pua.”

Despite the ongoing investigation into the allegations, Kairo’s message focused on maintaining a positive outlook and a determination to overcome difficulties, signaling to his supporters that he is in good spirits and continues to push forward.

The arrest, which reportedly occurred at one of his car yards, saw Kairo being held along with three of his employees. Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected as more details about the case emerge.

The response from Kairo’s followers has been largely supportive, with many offering words of encouragement. Notable reactions include messages of support such as, “Keep strong, it shall be well” and “Rooting for you, go Khalif go!” Some followers also urged him to remain humble and avoid showing off, citing the unpredictable nature of business.

Kairo’s arrest has raised questions about the challenges faced by businesspeople in Kenya, especially in industries involving high-value transactions like luxury cars. However, the influencer’s resilient approach, rooted in faith and determination, has resonated with many of his fans.

As the investigation unfolds, Kairo’s supporters are hopeful that he will navigate these challenges successfully and continue his entrepreneurial journey.
