Speaking at a public meeting in Ukambani, Sonko said that he was more than willing to support the Opposition if Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka would be the coalition’s presidential flag bearer.
The Nairobi Senator, who is known to be President Uhuru Kenyatta’s loyalist, noted that he supported Musyoka when he decided to vie for the presidency but decided to change his loyalty when the latter asked him to support Opposition Chief Raila Odinga.
“Lakini mimi ningependa kusema hivi mkitaka nirudi nyumbani, Kalonzo akuwe flag bearer wa CORD (I would like to say this, if you want me to return home, let Mr Kalonzo be CORD’s flag bearer),” Sonko said.
Present at the meeting was Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula who urged Sonko to go back to his roots and support Musyoka.
