The highly anticipated Ngemi Festival 4.0 has sparked heated discussions online over its ticket prices. While some fans are eager to experience the cultural extravaganza, others have expressed concerns about the costs, comparing them to previous editions.

Festival Details and Ticket Prices

Ngemi Festival 4.0 is set to take place in Naivasha on May 31 and June 1, coinciding with a long holiday weekend. The festival, celebrated for showcasing Kikuyu culture, has attracted a significant following over the years.

This year, ticket prices are structured as follows:

  • Day 1 (May 31): KSh 3,000
  • Day 2 (June 1): KSh 3,000
  • Season Pass (Both Days): KSh 5,000

Unlike previous editions, there are no early bird or VIP ticket options, a change that has raised eyebrows among attendees.

Supporters Defend the Pricing

Despite the backlash, some supporters have defended the ticket prices, arguing that the festival offers a unique cultural experience that justifies the cost. They highlight the high-profile performances, the scenic venue, and the immersive cultural activities that make the event special.

One attendee commented, “If we can pay KSh 10,000 for international artists, why can’t we support our own? Let’s learn to appreciate local talent.”

Hopes for a Public Holiday

As discussions continue, festival-goers remain hopeful that the government will declare June 2 a public holiday, allowing them to extend their celebrations without work interruptions. Regardless of the mixed reactions, anticipation for the festival remains high, with many looking forward to an unforgettable experience.

Will the high ticket prices deter attendees, or will the promise of cultural richness keep the festival spirit alive? Time will tell.
