Tanzanian music star Juma Jux and his wife Priscilla Ojo held the final ceremony of their much-publicized wedding on June 28 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, drawing the attention of fans and celebrities across East Africa. Among those present were Kenyan power couple Kevin Bahati and Diana Marua, who were the only Kenyan celebrities invited to the luxurious affair.
The wedding, dubbed #JP2025, was filled with star-studded moments, but one interaction that stood out was when Juma Jux jokingly confronted Bahati about his long-standing relationship with Diana. While catching up with the couple, Jux playfully asked Bahati why he still hadn’t married Diana, suggesting that it was finally their turn to walk down the aisle. “When is the wedding? Next is yours,” Jux said with a smile, prompting laughter and excitement from those nearby.
Bahati, clearly caught off guard, responded by acknowledging the pressure to match Jux’s high standards. He explained that he didn’t want to rush into anything without giving Diana the wedding she truly deserves. “We have just one problem, the standards. I don’t want to answer on the when until I am sure. Africa is proud of you, and you are giving us pressure,” he said.
Diana, dressed elegantly for the event, seemed thrilled by the exchange. She later took to Instagram to share the moment with her fans, celebrating Jux for raising the bar and hinting that she and Bahati could be next. “Yaaaaaassss! @juma_jux just dropped the right question to @bahatikenya. When? Catching up moments with the Bride of the year @its.priscy and her maid of honour @officialnandy,” she wrote.
In a heartfelt response, Bahati reassured Diana that he hadn’t forgotten his promise. He revealed that next year would mark their 10-year anniversary and hinted that their long-awaited wedding could finally happen. “Dear my lovely wife, @Diana_Marua, I know it’s been a long time waiting for our wedding. Next year, we will be celebrating 10 years together. I know this feels like a long time, but don’t worry — #TheBahatisBigDay will be worth the wait,” he said.
Bahati also praised Jux’s wedding as a masterclass on how a man should treat the woman he loves. “#JP2025 was a lesson on how a man should set standards for the one he loves. The African boy ametu heshimisha Africa Mashariki. Congratulations, my brother @Juma_Jux and the beautiful @its.priscy. I can confirm I am next,” Bahati added.
The couple wasn’t alone in representing Kenya at the wedding. Among the other Kenyans who made the guest list were fashion designer Filbert Mkiche, who turned heads with his impeccable styling, and media personalities Claudia Naisabwa and Mzazi Willy M. Tuva, who each brought their star power to the celebration.
Meanwhile, not all celebrity moments at the wedding were cheerful. Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz and his on-and-off partner Zuchu were noticeably distant, fueling rumours of tension between the two. They were seen sitting far apart and avoiding each other throughout the ceremony. Zuchu later hinted that she was hopeful God would bless her with the right partner and that her time for a wedding would also come.
As the dust settles from #JP2025, one thing is clear — Juma Jux and Priscilla Ojo’s fairytale wedding has left an impression across the region, and the spotlight may soon shift to Kenya if Bahati makes good on his promise. Fans are already counting down to what could be the next big celebrity wedding in East Africa.
