Karangu Muraya is trending once again, but this time, it’s not for a new song or a public feud. The popular Kikuyu gospel artist, philanthropist, and influencer has taken a surprising turn—by extending an olive branch to some of his fiercest critics, including well-known blogger Esther Baumbach and content creator Essy wa Willy.
The move has left fans both stunned and divided.
Known for his bold personality and influence within the Kikuyu community, Karangu Muraya has never shied away from speaking his mind, especially online. But in a refreshing change, he recently shared a heartfelt message on social media, revealing that he had reconciled with Baumbach and Essy—two figures he had publicly clashed with in the past.
Posting a photo of the two women, Karangu captioned it with:
“My blessed sisters Esther Baumbach and Essy wa willy official, I owe you a lot. I have a story to tell… si mseme tu wabarikiwe.”
His public gesture of reconciliation quickly sparked conversation across social media. Some fans praised the maturity behind the move, while others questioned the sincerity of the peace offering. Karangu soon responded to the criticism with a follow-up post, asking:
“So, making peace with these two wonderful ladies imeuma watu kwa nini?”
In a lengthy message, Karangu opened up about his past misunderstanding with Esther Baumbach. He revealed that he initially didn’t know the reason behind Baumbach’s online attacks against him. After meeting her on a TikTok live session with his younger brother Karuga, he expressed his frustration. It was only after speaking with someone close to her that he realized the root of her anger stemmed from his role as an MC at her late husband’s funeral—something that, in hindsight, he admitted may have been perceived as insensitive.
He owned up to his words, confessed that he had acted harshly in the heat of the moment, and publicly apologized.
“Because I hate holding grudges, I decided to swallow back my words and apologise… that issue about money and the burial, I also apologised because I was not even part of the planning committee. And even now, I publicly apologise to her.”
As for Essy wa Willy, Karangu revealed that they made peace after a meeting involving his estranged wife, Triza Njeri. Essy and Triza had grown close after Triza moved out of their marital home. During the meeting, Karangu said he was ready to do everything requested of him to mend the strained relationships.
“To my sister Essy wa willy official, we have fought right, left and center… and I decided to make peace when we sat down with Triza Mamake Muraya and some friends. Everything she requested, I delivered wholeheartedly.”
Karangu didn’t stop at his two former rivals. In his emotional post, he also addressed fans he had blocked during his online confrontations. He promised to start unblocking them “one by one” and asked for their understanding.
“Once again, to any person that was affected by those issues, in one way or the other, am very sorry and with time, I will be unblocking them one by one with a clean heart. Thank you for understanding me…. shalom.”
Karangu Muraya’s recent message of reconciliation highlights a different side of the influencer—one willing to embrace humility, own up to past mistakes, and repair broken bridges. While not everyone may agree with his approach, his decision to seek peace over conflict is resonating with many who admire him not just as an entertainer, but as a human being on a journey of growth.
