Actor and media personality Martin Githinji, popularly known as Daddie Marto, has gone public with claims about what he says were years of silent suffering in his marriage to content creator Koku Lwanga. The two, whose split has played out online in recent weeks, have traded accusations ranging from financial disputes to emotional abuse.
The drama began when Koku accused Marto of assault after confronting him with another woman. Marto denied the claims, stating he was pursuing legal action. He later revealed that he took a loan to build a house for Koku’s parents, a move that left him in financial strain. Koku disputed this, detailing her version of the financial arrangement.
In a series of Instagram stories, Marto said he was breaking his silence after years of enduring what he described as a toxic marriage. He accused Koku of narcissistic behaviour, emotional abuse, and shutting down efforts to fix their relationship. “Enough is enough. You shall not use my children to take advantage of me. Everyone has a breaking point, and this is mine,” he wrote.
Marto alleged that for six of their nine years together, physical intimacy was nonexistent, leaving him feeling rejected and emotionally detached. He claimed that whenever he tried to be affectionate, he was shut down, yet he was later accused of neglect. “It was nonexistent in the marriage, you wonder how we got pregnant. I was a man under siege in my home,” he said.
He also denied hacking Koku’s accounts, explaining that he had access because he helped her build her social media pages, just as she had access to his. Marto further alleged that Koku threatened to destroy his career and that he had been receiving insults and threats since their split.
Koku, on her part, has maintained she is focused on rebuilding her life and has vowed not to marry or fall in love again. While their divorce proceedings have not been confirmed, the ongoing public exchange suggests that reconciliation is unlikely.
