Renowned Kenyan musician Iyanii, born Ian Oure, sparked excitement during a visit to Lang’ata Women’s Prison over the weekend. The singer, famous for his hit “Donjo Maber,” received a warm and animated welcome from the inmates, with cheers and hugs captured in a viral video that has since warmed hearts online.

In the clip, Iyanii is seen arriving in a black shirt, immediately greeted by a crowd of enthusiastic inmates. The musician shared heartfelt moments, exchanging greetings and embraces, visibly moved by the reception. Netizens quickly praised both the singer’s humility and the inmates’ appearance and health. Comments included admiration for their beauty, cleanliness, and positive energy. Users expressed awe at the scene, noting the emotional connection between Iyanii and the inmates.

The viral video highlights not only Iyanii’s popularity but also the human side of incarceration, showing moments of joy, interaction, and shared excitement in an environment often associated with hardship. Fans lauded Iyanii for his gesture, describing it as an act many cannot replicate in the entertainment industry.

Separately, Iyanii recently revealed his romantic relationship with social media personality Shes Kemunto during a live performance at the Mkisii Fest. Performing at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi on September 13, he introduced Kemunto to the crowd in grand style. She appeared in a stylish outfit of thigh-high black shorts, knee-length boots, a white crop top, and an oversized shirt. Iyanii serenaded her with his hit love song “Unanifaa,” sharing close dances and playful gestures, which enthralled fans and added a personal touch to his stage presence.

Iyanii’s engagements, from heartfelt prison visits to public declarations of love, continue to capture the public’s attention. His actions demonstrate a blend of celebrity influence and genuine connection, earning him admiration from both fans and fellow Kenyans.
