Blankets & Wine has confirmed the complete artist line up for the Kenyan Summer 2025 edition. The event is set for 21 December 2025 at Laureate Gardens, Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. Organisers have placed clear focus on performers by releasing one of the most extensive rosters the festival has showcased across the live stage and the electronic Onja Onja stage.

The live stage brings together acts from Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. Tanzania’s Marioo leads the list. His year has been strong because of the impact of Nairobi, his collaboration with Bien. Kenyan group Matata will perform their dance driven rap sound. Iyanii will make his debut appearance and is expected to draw attention with Donjo Maber. Okello Max joins the list with his Afro fusion style. Bridgit Blue adds R&B representation as one of Kenya’s rising voices. South African trio MiCasa will deliver their mix of house, soul and jazz. Elsy Wameyo brings a global edge through her heavy lyric delivery. Ssaru and Shad Mziki complete the main stage set.

The electronic segment sits at the centre of this year’s experience. The Onja Onja stage will be headlined by the Scorpion Kings, Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. Their influence on Amapiano continues to shape the genre across Africa. UK producer Donae’o adds an international layer with his club driven catalogue. The rest of the stage features Kenyan DJs, including Foozak, Ms Mika, Hiribae, Darkfruit and Shishi. The night will end with a back to back set by Aly Fresh, Mura and Big Nyagz. The trio is known in Nairobi for Afro house, deep textures and bass heavy blends.

Festival Creative Director Muthoni Ndonga said the emphasis on Onja Onja reflects the growth of house and electronic music in Kenya. The team aims to place Nairobi’s electronic sound on a wider continental stage. The 2025 edition marks the start of the festival’s 17th year. Organisers noted that internal work is underway to strengthen service delivery and improve operational flow.

The event will also feature the Onja Onja Market. The space will highlight Kenyan crafts, fashion and food. Its timing close to the festive season gives vendors a chance to showcase cultural products and gives attendees an opportunity for last minute holiday shopping.
