Luo musician Prince Indah has addressed claims that his bouncers attacked fellow musician Emmanuel Musindi during the ODM@20 celebrations at Mama Ngina Waterfront in Mombasa. The incident reportedly left Musindi nursing head injuries and hospitalized in Kakamega, sparking public concern and calls for authorities to investigate.
The allegations emerged in a now-deleted post by Philip Etale, who claimed Musindi was trying to access Indah at the event when he was assaulted. “Emmanuel was seriously injured and is currently at a hospital in Kakamega. He bled profusely from the beating and the injuries triggered pain in his head, which was operated on after an accident a couple of years ago. Please, Omwami Prince Indah, find time and reach out to this humble man,” Etale wrote.
Responding to the claims, Prince Indah refuted any involvement of his security team. He explained that he did not travel to the event with his bouncers due to logistical reasons. “Consequently, the allegation of involvement of any of my security team in such an attack is not only baseless but also not factual. I therefore request an immediate investigation to confirm the veracity of such allegations,” Indah stated.
He emphasized that attacks on fellow artists harm the entire music industry. “I hold immense respect and utmost veneration towards my brother, my fellow artiste, and particularly for his experience in the industry. An attack on an artist is not only on the individual but also on the entire industry; subsequently, it must be dealt with accordingly,” he said.
Prince Indah also expressed his willingness to cooperate fully with authorities in resolving the matter. “I am willing and ready to assist and comply with any investigative processes as far as the indicated attack is concerned. My security team is also available to abide by any investigative procedures. I would like to wish my brother a quick recovery as I beseech relevant authorities to take immediate action in bringing to book the perpetrators of this heinous act,” he added.
The incident has sparked sympathy for Emmanuel Musindi from fans, who have called on authorities to ensure justice is served. Meanwhile, Prince Indah’s statement seeks to clarify his position and distance himself and his team from the alleged attack, emphasizing the need for a proper investigation.
