Faith Kibathi, one of the lead actresses in the popular Kenyan series Single Kiasi opened up about her role as Rebecca and the recently released fourth season. Produced by Grace Kahaki and Philippe Bresson, Single Kiasi follows the lives of three best friends—Sintamai, Rebecca, and Mariah—as they navigate career challenges, relationships, and personal struggles.

Kibathi shared how she prepares to bring Rebecca to life on screen. “I always start with looking where Rebecca comes from and what she has been through in the past because that determines her choices from there on. In this season she is facing her hurdles head on and she’s multifaceted, and I had to accommodate all that she is,” she said. The third season ended with a cliffhanger involving Rebecca’s love interest and her best friend, and Kibathi noted that filming the new season required her to reflect on her own experiences with friendships and relationships.

The actress highlighted trust and boundaries as key themes in the show. “Absolutely, the main highlight was trust in friendships. As much as I may love people around me, they are bound to disappoint. I know where my boundaries are and if they are crossed, it’s a point of no return. People seem to take advantage of you if you’re too lenient,” she said.

Kibathi believes Single Kiasi has reshaped her understanding of the modern Kenyan woman. She explained that the show tackles real-life issues, from single parenthood and physical abuse to the challenges of dating today. “I have met so many women who feel represented and that a similar version of their story is being told. We don’t just entertain, we educate and mirror what is happening in society,” she said.

Looking ahead, Kibathi revealed plans to collaborate with younger producers and directors, including Crazy Kennar and Vinnie Baite. “I am looking forward to working with younger producers and directors because they have a fresh perspective of storytelling. Like any other industry, ours keeps evolving, and it’s good to stay in touch or you’ll be left behind,” she shared.

Faith Kibathi also emphasized the role of her family in keeping her grounded amidst the demands of showbiz. “First it’s God, then my family. At the end of the day they are my home. They know what I stand for and what my vision is, plus they keep me accountable and give me a shoulder to lean on. I am blessed to have them in my life,” she said.

Through her role on Single Kiasi and her reflections on personal and professional growth, Kibathi continues to connect with audiences while portraying authentic and relatable stories about friendship, trust, and resilience in modern Kenya.
